review of revolution in poetic language

      It is belived that Julia Kristeva is one of the most original thinkers who based her theory in “Revolution in poetic Language “ on constellation of other thinker such as Fridrich Wilhelm ,Nietzche ,Plato ,Edmund Husserl , Sigmund Freud , Jacques Lacan and Ferdinand de Saussure ; in fact, her essay doesn’t have any significant meaning for those who are not familiar with these thinkers .According to her essay , I think she has insisted that the study of language is inseparable from the study of speaking being .Since, on the one hand ,shaping of language is before emerging its symbols .In order to clarify on these issues –firstly , I will assert how language is produced according to Kristeva’s theory secondly , I will explain how semiotic aspect of speech is a part of human language .

     Where other linguists and philosophers have studied language as a separate , fixed structure ,Kristava has insisted that the study of language is inseparable from the study of the speaking being .Instead of study language separately ,she studies the signifying process by which the speaking being discharge its energy and affects into its symbolic mode of signification .Her study of the signifying practice rest on psychoanalytical theory , drawing a development picture of the speaking beings who first begins to signify well before he or she learns words .First significations occour when the child is still absorb in the semiotic chora –the psychic space in which it search energy and drives are oriented and expressed .She points to the importance of biological drives and energy , but notes that they can only be understand through our language and culture .It should be mentioned that even when the child matures into an adults, the semiotic scope will continue to make itself felt .
     She mention that meaning is not made just lexicaly , with words denoting thoughts or thing .Meaning is made in large part by the poetic and affective aspects of texts as well .This revolution is not limited to the language of artists , but is present in ways that ordinary human beings try to express themselves .All out , in another word symbolic is made of signifying in which speaking being attempt to express meaning with as little ambiguity as possible .As a case in point , when a reader who has no knowledge about subjectivity , semiotic , chora and other thinkers ideas felt Kristeva’s article is meaningless or ambigious but for another reader who knows Freud ,Nitzche , Saussure , Hegel it seems understandable .

     To sum up , semiotic and symbolic aspect of language is part of our everyday life , in addition for understanding of each other it is necessary to be familiar with semiotic part of it , however, this semiotic part is not always accessible to  each of us.
